“There’s a strong emphasis on inclusion and the professors here do a really good job of making me feel included”

“Particularly in the sciences there’s a strong emphasis on inclusion and the professors here do a really good job of making me feel included both, as a woman in science and even though I haven’t necessarily come out to my professors I don’t think they would have a problem if I told them I’m bisexual. I don’t think they would treat me any differently than they do now.”

“I think a lot of it [discrimination] has to do with the very binary perspective that people take on. People always tend to have a very binary thought process – good or evil, man or woman, gay or straight. So I think we need to just in general work towards a more inclusive perspective and not just binaries and I think from there people would be more understanding that there are things in between these two ends of the spectrum that we need to realize.”
